Fees:  IMPORTANT - This class’s tuition ($500) is covered by Hope Dual Enrollment Grant, and DT does NOT charge tuition for the course, however we have a $150 admin fee for the year that covers our costs of offering this option.
All other resources will be provided electronically.  If you do not have internet access, other arrangements can be made.

Course Description/Outline/Objectives: 

ENG 109 COLLEGE WRITING I (First semester)

This course focuses on the development of proficiency in writing through peer editing, revision, and instruction by the professor. Students will write a number of essays, one of which involves a short literary work, learning the skills required for a variety of writing modes.

ENG 110 COLLEGE WRITING II (Second semester)

Students will learn basic elements of critical thinking and the application of those elements to living in the contemporary world. Assignments include a major research paper on a controversial topic and a critical analysis of a topic originating in a major work of literature. Prerequisite: ENG 109.

Expected Weekly Time Commitment for Homework: Approximately 3 hours
