BIO
Shelly Stanley enjoys teaching and has taught at DT through the co op and DT since 2021. Being a self proclaimed renaissance woman, Shelly has tried to vary her skills and abilities. She has enjoyed music from a very young age and many of her favorite teachers and most impactful adults were musicians in her life. Shelly was trained in piano from the age of 8, competing nationally yearly and performing multiple times a year. Shelly started receiving vocal training at age 15 and sang in the elite choir at her high school, Emory and Henry College, MTSU and then as an adult in church praise teams. Shelly has taught private piano lessons as well as music classes at Discipleship Tutorial's Co-op. She currently plays keyboard and sings each Sunday on her church's praise team.
Shelly was taught sewing through a class at a community center and has since completed more than 20 quilts as well as numerous costumes and clothing items.
History has always been a passion of Shelly’s and she was thrilled to teach a Tennessee history class to the 5-6th grade co op. The class was so loved that she decided to offer it to DT middle school students.
