John Vonhof loves writing and helping new writers. He has taught at Christian Writers Conferences at Mt. Hermon, CA (18 years); San Leandro, CA (15 years); San Diego, CA; and at Leesburg, FL (7 years). At those 41 combined years of teaching at conferences he taught over 20 different types of workshops—from one-hour workshops to eight-hour major workshops tracks. He is a member of the Christian organization, Word Weavers International. 

John has written a variety books and articles since 1997. His publications include The Pastoral Search Journey (2nd edition, 2010), Fixing Your Feet: Injury Prevention and Treatment for Athletes (7th edition, 2021), and several self-published booklets. He has written for many Christian and secular magazines, and a host of websites, on a variety of topics. Writing Fixing Your Feet opened the door to work on athletes’ feet at athletic events in Chile, Brazil, Costa Rica, Canada, and many locations in the United States, to speak on his book at outdoor sporting stores, and to be interviewed on over 20 podcasts.

John is currently under contract for a book about church leadership, a nonfiction book written as a parable. He also has two other nonfiction books in process.

An introduction to high-school level writing. Designed to meet a full high-school English credit. Students will write short stories, multi-part stories, essays, flash fiction, articles, and poetry.

Schoology

Work will be submitted through Schoology. Students are encouraged to practice keyboarding during the summer. There are several online programs, free of charge, that are designed to help students develop keyboarding skills.

Expected Weekly Time Commitment for Homework: 2 hours per week
