BIO     Renée Webb Sproles grew up in Murfreesboro, TN, graduating from Oakland High School in 1989. She and her husband, David, married in 1992 and have lived in Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana, and North Carolina, returning home to Murfreesboro in the fall of 2011. Renée began homeschooling her two children, Emma and Houston, in 2005 and is passionate about helping others develop a Christian worldview. In 2014 during her 10th year of homeschooling, Renée also became the program coordinator for The School of Christian Thought. She is honored for God to use her many years of homeschooling experience as well as her degree in Public Relations from Harding University to develop the many facets of the School of Christian Thought, which now include a speaker series, accredited college coursework, a residential school of discipleship, and the discipleship tutorial.

Course Description/Outline/Objectives: 

This course is focused on strategies, tips, and tools that every student can utilize to succeed in school and in life. Information will be gathered from multiple sources including How to Become a Straight-A Student, The Everything Guide to Study Skills, How to Read a Book, and other sources deemed beneficial.

Topics will include (but are not limited to):

• Discovering Our Learning Styles
• Getting the Most out of Classroom Time
• Time Management and Taking Notes
• How to Read Different Genres of Writing
• Preparing for Exams / Effective Study
• Becoming a Good Researcher
• Organization Skills

Expected Weekly Time Commitment for Homework:   Principals learned should be practiced in other courses.
